Apologies for the lack of blog posts recently - time is a precious resource… a bit like petrol!

Anyways, I gather that the brickies are just about finished on the new lifeboat station. Northern Brickworks, working for the main subcontractors Harry Faircloughs have stated that they are near completion now on the brickwork for the new building.

Having recently been bought out, I gather that the new owners have big plans for Hoylake’s Kings Gap Hotel. Entrepreneurs Simon Matthews-Williams and Paul Bolton plans for The Kings Gap hotel include:

  • rebranded as a Ramada branded suites hotel
  • only original old house will be retained
  • new-build element will create 96 rooms and suites
  • underground car park

The developers say:

King’s Gap, we think, is a great location with its proximity to Liverpool and is ripe for development. Obviously we are very pleased to have a brand like Ramada involved.

What do you think of the plans?

Warm Weather Arrives

Hoylake residents are currently enjoying a spell of warm weather - but the bloomin’ wind is still around. It’s been really nice the last couple of days and lots of people seem to be out and about enjoying the warm spell. Tuesday was sunnier than today but there was alot more wind around yesterday  - I certainly noticed it on my run along the embankment down to Leasowe.

How about you - are you enjoying the weather?
