HoylakeJunction.com currently uses an email newsletter service provided by a Google company called feedburner. It all works fine and dandy but there’s every possibility that Google could stop supporting the service some time in the future. So, as I’ve already done with the West Kirby Times, I’m going to switch to the very popular and trusted mailchimp service.
By the way, if you’ve got fab photos of West Kirby why not send me copy at news [ @ ] westkirby [ . ] org (you don’t need those brackets and spaces of course, it just helps to combat the relentless spam).
I’ll most probably make the switch over the Easter weekend, otherwise I’ll just be eating lots of Ferrero Rocher and watching the telly.
I’ll also have to make a couple of behind the scenes tweaks to the site at the same time. You won’t have to do anything …enjoy your chocolate!
Hopefully you’ll only notice a bit of an improvement and you’ll still be able to unsubscribe whenever you like …though please don’t do that, otherwise it’ll just be me and the dog! The site subscriber list isn’t available to anybody else either as we all get enough email spam as it is.
When I’m done it’ll work just the same (he says confidently) so when news items are published on the site you’ll receive an email the following morning. The newsletter layout may change a little bit as I tweak the format over the following weeks.
