This coming Saturday morning (the 17th) at 9.30 am there’s an RSPB bird watching event happening down on North Parade. The event listing doesn’t say so, but I think the twitchers (is that the nickname ?) tend to meet at the bottom of Kings Gap. I gather it’ll be high tide which makes the birds easier to watch as they feed and roost. It’s free to join in!
The bird pictured here is a winter knot …the knot being a popular bird on the Hoylake shore and the inspiration behind the two sculptures on and by the roundabout.
