Wirral Council has awarded local community grants to fund work on local Hoylake projects including the model boating lake (pictured above).
The Hoylake Marine Bowling Club (in Queens Park) has been awarded £800 to make minor refurbishments to the club house to improve the kitchen and lounge.
The Hoylake Model Boat Club has been awarded £1,000 to fix the public shelter damaged by the recent storms, which is widely used by the community. According to their website the winter storms dumped 40 tonnes of sand, seaweed and debris into the boating lake.
The Festival of Firsts has been awarded £1,000 to include a Festi-Velo bike parade as part of the festival in July 2014, which will be the first of its kind in the UK outside the City
