Thank you for your continued support throughout 2013.
Our 2013 review newsletter is now available HERE, I hope you find it an enjoyable read. Its certainly been an eventful year.
Queens Park has some exciting news for 2014, the Friends have successfully applied to the Gannett Fund grant (Wirral Globe), and together with support from Everite Windows we will be providing for our young people an activity & adventure trail in the parks playground area.
Did you know you can also renew your support membership or make donations on line via our website www.hoylakeinbloom.co.uk. Support membership remains the same at £5 for individuals, £7 for families and £10 for businesses. If you are unsure when your support membership is due please get in touch and we will check for you.
Your support is really important to keep the village “Smiling”.
We have planned for 2014 a marvelous display of flowers in the tubs, brick containers and the roundabout barrier baskets. During the Open Golf we will be doing something a bit different, one of our volunteers came up with the idea of holding a ‘Floral Golf Bag’ competition for under 16 groups (like scouts, brownies, church and school groups). Each group designing a floral display of their choice within a golf bag. These will then be on display in the ‘The Row’ during the Open Golf with the public able to vote on their favourite. More on our website.
We have applied to the ‘Love Wirral” fund for a small grant of £242 to fund the wild flower seeds to produce this years Wild Flower meadow in the Parade Gardens. If we are successful in our bid we are planing to do a separate bed with ‘Less we forget’ seeds to commemorate the first world war centenary in 2014.
There are many groups applying to the “Love Wirral” fund for all kinds of worthwhile community projects. It is up to the public to vote on which projects they would like to see selected. You can vote for as many projects as you like, hopefully ours will be included. The important thing is to vote, either at www.wirral.gov.uk/lovewirral and click on “VOTE NOW” button, select West Wirral or at any Council One Stop Shop (West Kirby is the nearest) or by post to Wallasey Town Hall (Voting is 13th to 24th January 2014).
