Merseyrail are offering the £1 flat return fare on Thursday evenings from this week and it is available on Northern and Wirral Lines for the next six weeks. I paid £3.30 for a return to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago so it’s a decent saving. During December you can also travel for £1 every Sunday too.
This annual Christmas offer is apparently now in its 15th year. I’ve emailed Mersey Tunnels and Mersey Ferries to see if they’ll be offering cheaper fares in the run up to Christmas. [UPDATE]: Mersey Ferries aren’t offering any deals.

But who remembers these old trains? Picture courtesy of Tom Burnham via his flickr stream.
As we are thinking of ways to regenerate the sea front and attracting more people to the prom, I thought it would be really good to re start the beach mission that Stan Ford used to run a few years ago. I have been on the team of the Scripture Union beach mission at Criccieth for a few years a while back and they are a great way of getting people on the beach and having a good time with lots of planned activities.
