Royal wedding party at Grove Park

royal street partyThe Friends of Grove Park are organising a party to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, 29th April.

Gail Lowther and Mandy Biagetti would love to hear your suggestions about what could be done to make the day special for all the local community. They are having a meeting at The Plasterers Arms (next to Grove Park) on Thursday 3rd, February at 8pm to discuss a few ideas and all are welcome.

If you can’t make that meeting but would like to put forward some ideas then you can contact either Gail Lowther on 07957 658936 – sglowther@yahoo.com or Mandy Biagetti on 07989 278642 – mandybiagetti@talktalk.net before the meeting.

You’ll also find Friends of Grove Park over facebook. Heck, you could ‘like’ their page if you use facebook. And the one for HoylakeJunction too!

The photo? I’ve published that before, right here.

I can’t help wondering how many people look at the Plasterers Arms but dont realise that the pub is listed in the census of 1751, along with the ‘Lake inn’ on Lake Place. That census also shows that the landlord of the Plasterers in 1751 was a Mr George Washington, so far as I am aware there is no connection with the GW across the pond.
