The site has been updated and most noticeably there’s a new layout. Please shout by leaving a comment if you think something is broken.
This new layout is much lighter and should be marginally faster to load, though I suspect none of us will notice that.
Across the homepage in the top left there’s something called a tabber – you can click on the headings and tab between the six available categories to read the latest post for each of them.
Further tweaking of the existing posts and categories is needed but hopefully you’ll find it easier to delve into the older published items. There are now better thumbnails (small images) too – so maybe no more red megaphones!
As always, the site works much better with your input …so do leave comments on the items and feel free to get in touch with your local news, photos, memories, ideas, whatever you think other readers would be interested in! You can always use this email address:

I like the look of the new layout, not sure about loading speed as I don’t have any speed issues normally anyway, the navigation is simple and intuitive.

Looks good to me. Only one issue I have is that there is no longer a list of latest comments popsted by readers.
