Hoylake’s Horn Arcade

Wirral Horn Arcade

Does anybody know what is happening on the site of the now demolished Wirral Horn Arcade opposite Somerfields in Hoylake?

The site of the Wirral Horn Arcade was granted planning permission for a development of retail and office space. Good to see office developments in Hoylake – more people and economic activity to support the town’s revitalisation! Another office development behind Carphone Warehouse has recently received the go ahead too.

    Hi Pete

Thanks for the comment – presumed it would be new retail premises!

I should start reading the planning apps – I’d no idea of the development of offices behind Carphone. They have just completed a refurb above Carphone though.

I agree, Hoylake needs more investment to build upon the recent work undertaken on the road and pavements – a big improvement in my opinion.

Are you involved in the planning process at all?

    Regards

    John

No, not a planner but keep an eye on what’s going on in my home town from afar! Now living in Edinburgh. The planning apps easy to see on the council website and interesting to see yr photos.

Anyone know what’s happening to The Paddock on Meols Drive or the propsed cafe in the old prom loos at the bottom of Trinity Road?

Well the old loos down on the prom are still old loos and I suspect will remain so. There was a “To Let” sign up a couple of years ago but nothing came of it.

Can’t recall which building The Paddock is. If it’s that sprawling old nursing home close to the new apartments on the site of the old job centre – well not alot is happening at all. It’s a bit of an eyesore really.
