A Christmas Carol Concert at Hoylake Lifeboat Station this Saturday is aiming to help the appeal go out on a high note. And to see the night out I gather there’ll be a professional fireworks display from 10pm (approx).
Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir is performing a concert, called On The Crest Of A Wave, and this is the last major event planned to support the RNLI Hoylake Lifeboat Appeal. Senior RNLI Fundraising Manager Audrey Farr says:
The RNLI Hoylake lifeboat appeal has so far raised £1.4M and we are hoping to increase this by the end of the year, when the appeal will draw to a close. Our initial £2M target had to be revised after the recession kicked in soon after we launched the appeal but nevertheless, we are delighted with the amount we have raised and incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the appeal over the past two years.
The money raised has already helped provide a wonderful new lifeboat station for Hoylake’s volunteer lifeboat crew and the rest of the appeal fund will go towards a new, faster all-weather lifeboat to replace Hoylake’s current vessel, Lady of Hilbre, when she reaches the end of her operational life.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available by calling Gus Harper on 01782 271501 or the RNLI Hoylake Appeal office on 0845 650 3999. For further information take a look at this RNLI web page.
