It might snow this week, though I wouldn’t bet that we’ll see much here in Hoylake. The photo above is one of mine taken back in early February this year (just days before the lifeboat crew moved in to their new home). Whilst parts of the country had heavy snow falls (by UK standards) in Hoylake we had a light covering and that was about it really.

Well, a few flakes to give a dusting this morning (Saturday) but some interesting developments in the days ahead, starting with this evening as some rain/sleet moves south this evening/overnight maybe turning to heavy snow for a while. The rain may freeze on contact with cold surfaces leading to black ice…beware! Possibility of heavy snow showers on a bitterly cold Sunday. Attention then turns to Christmas Eve when a more prolonged period of snow may push up from the South… But will it turn milder from the South on Christmas Day? All on a knife edge at the moment!!
