Friday Photo: New Years Day Morning

news years day

Happy New Year 🙂

I hope you all enjoyed Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to whatever the twenty tens may bring! I wonder what we’ll see happening in Hoylake over the next decade?

For the first Friday Photo of 2010 I’m showing you what Market Street was like this morning at around 9.30 am …very, very quiet. There was hardly anyone about and as you can see there weren’t many cars on the road.

It’s a long shot but if you have any old photos of Hoylake taken on a previous New Years Day that you’d like to share then feel free to get in touch and send them in.

I have heard of double lines meaning no parking, but what do the zig zag lines mean? I checked on Google maps and only see three sets on Market St. I the picture shot from Lake Pl. toward Aderly Rd.?

No parking for even one second or else an instant fine or impoundment! They are put either side of pedestrian crossings to ensure that pedestrians are easily visible to approaching drivers.

Yes, it’s looking towards Alderley road as you suggest.
