Heap & Partners demolition

Having received consent for plans for a housing development on 9th August, Wirral Methodist Housing Association has already commenced works on the former Heap & Partners site behind Manor Road Station.

I took some photos of the site as the demolition of the existing offices was in progress a week or so ago – the site has probably been cleared by now.

You can read more about the redevelopment plans in this item.

I worked on the demolition of the old laundry and the construction of Heaps in the early 70’s. The big double glazed windows were ‘state of the art’ at that time but three of them cracked either because somebody got the dimensions wrong or they were fitted wrong!
