Parade School 1921

Recognise anyone? This old school photograph was taken back 1921 and shows the Hoylake Parade School class of Henry Eccles (I think I’ve got that right). Imagine how disappointed the children were that the photographer interrupted double-maths 🙂

If you can name anyone in the photo then I’m sure the Parade Centenary team would love to hear from you. You can email them at paradecentenary <at> btinternet <dot> com

The front desk the two boys the holding a pencil is Richard Briggs Denton, known locally in West Kirby as “Mike Denton”
He was my wife’s father, I also have an original of this photo at home.

    Hi,

Would it be possible to tell me if Hoylake parade was a grammar school in 1937. I am so some history as my late mother in law Dorothy Whitehouse went there.

    Many thanks Annette
