I’ve walked down to the prom on a couple of evenings this week to look at the sunsets and to take a few snaps like the one above.
The pirate ship acts as a local landmark now and a few other people were also taking photos with the Grace Darling (that’s its name) in view. But you can also stand to the right of the lifeboat station and the boating lake to include a different landmark.
Several people were out along the prom either walking, running or cycling. But nowhere near as many as there would’ve been up the road at West Kirby. A good thing maybe? Maybe not?
oh, if anyone managed to get a good photo of the lunar eclipse the other night that you can identify as Hoylake I’d love to publish a copy.

Great picture! Haven’t been back to Hoylake for a few years. and couldn’t: tell from the sunset pic, but what’s the story of the pirate ship? Is it getting ready for Guy Fawkes? A sand-castle? A real ship??
Thanks!
