Libraries Public Enquiry Commences

The public enquiry into the proposed closure of several Wirral libraries has now begun. Hoylake Library is one of those libraries included in the enquiry.

The enquiry started this morning at 9.30 at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton and the public are welcome to attend.

Please do get in touch or leave a comment if you have any news about this enquiry for your fellow readers. I will post the outcome as soon as I find out.

Very welcome news this evening regarding the libraries and a testament to the effect that public opinion and community protest can have.

What bets that the Charteris Report is going to conclude against the proposed closure, and the Council leaders are forestalling this by blaming us all for getting the DCMS involved and upsetting the budget plans for 09/10.
