1810 Memorial Fund abseil event

mcvey abseil

Ian Davies writes:

The 1810 Memorial Fund abseil event (more info) that was held to raise money for the memorial that will be sited outside the Lifeboat station saw 38 abseilers scaling down the outside of Leasowe Lighthouse cheered on by the gathering crowd. The weather was spectacular and the event was opened by Hoylake Lifeboat operations manager John Curry abseiling down and the final abseiler was our MP Esther McVey as seen in this picture, as the sponsor money is still coming in we are not sure of the total amount raised but we are predicting this to be in excess of £4k. A very big thank you to all who supported this event.
