Hoylake RNLI recover missing person

hoylake-lifeboat

Hoylake RNLI Lifeboat launched on Wednesday night after a body was sighted in the sea a few miles north of the mouth of the River Dee.

The Coastguard requested assistance in recovering the person following a report to them by a local work boat. The volunteer crew were paged at 09.20 pm and the lifeboat launched shortly afterwards.

Merseyside Police attended at Hoylake Lifeboat Station to arrange for the removal of the person from the lifeboat when it recovered at midnight.

Second Coxswain Tony Warburton who was in command of the lifeboat said; ‘It was good to be able to help the family of the missing person who now have some closure following their sad loss.’

The crew stood down at 02.30 am after their lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and made ready for the next service.
