Hoylake Allotment Association (website) had their first annual Fun Day last weekend, down at the plots over the railway line at the bottom of Sandringham Avenue. The organising team did well to book glorious weather for the event too!
Rose Chandler, Secretary writes:
“…the Fun Day was a great success.  We raised £530 for our association and a good time was had by all.  As you know, we couldn’t have asked for better weather, the children had a great time, our plotters made and sold amazing cakes and it was lovely to see people staggering off with their purchases.  We hope to make it a bigger and better event next year.  This was our first attempt and we are very happy.  Thanks to all who attended”
The above photo is of plot 65 that is caringly nurtured by Ian and Jo Hazlehurst. You can follow their progress with fruit, veg and homemade goodies on Ian’s allotment blog.
