A photographer from Hoylake is one of the winners of this year’s Wirral Art & Photography Exhibition which is currently running at the Williamson Art Gallery and features work by more than 100 Wirral artists.
Marianthi Lainas specialises in land and seascape photography and her monochromatic image “Sand Swirl†(pictured) featuring Fort Perch Rock lighthouse was selected as the overall prizewinner in the exhibition’s photographic section.
Marianthi took part in last year’s popular Wirral Open Studio Tour, organised by another Hoylake artist, Micheline Robinson, and is looking forward to being part of the Tour again when it returns to Hoylake for the weekend of 24th/25th September. She will also be exhibiting alongside other local artists at the forthcoming Wirral Festival of Firsts which will be based in Hoylake on 9th/10th July.
The exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, runs until 22nd May and is open to the public Tues-Sun 10am-5pm
