Body washed ashore at Red Rocks

cautionIt is being reported that a body has been washed ashore in the area around Red Rocks at the end of Stanley Road.

Initial emails received at HoylakeJunction.com suggested that body parts had been washed ashore. However, subsequent news reports indicate a body was washed ashore and the unidentified person had been dead for some time. The death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

Some of the police in attendance were seen leaving the scene at 12.45pm but it is not yet clear if access to the beach at the Stanley Road slipway  has been reopened. Stanley Road itself has not been closed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
