Coastline Meeting

Apologies for the late mention of this but Peter Wilson has made me aware of a meeting about our coastline this Thursday evening. A number of Shoreline Management Plan 2 consultation events are being held across the north west and it’s the Wirral event this week.

Organised by The North West England and North Wales Coastal Group (official site) the public is being asked to help Wirral Council plan how the transforming coastline between Heswall and around to Eastham, should be managed over the next 100 years. That stretch of coastline encompasses Hoylake of course!

As we’ve discussed several times this year on HoylakeJunction.com we do need to consider how our own coastline should be maintained and in-part how best to manage drifting sands and spartina grass growth.

I’d be interested in attending myself but unfortunately am already doing something – if you do attend feel free to leave a comment if any of the discussion is interesting.

When: Thursday, 10th December

Time: 7pm-8.30pm

Where: Kings Gap Court Hotel, Hoylake
