How’s about that for a bit of colour!
Pictured is the new wild flower bed in Meols Parade Gardens with the new murals on the wall in the background. Both are part of a long-planned, sensory garden project that when complete will also include a circular mosaic designed by pupils of Holy Trinity School.
Jan Foster (Hoylake in Bloom) kindly sent me the above photo as she quite rightly wanted to show just how colourful the wild flowers are right now.
By the way, you can’t actually get in to that end of Parade Gardens at the moment as the area is fenced-off while the workmen complete the project. The art work portraying the Hoylake coast consists of photographs and paintings and when I find out who the artists are I’ll let you know.
What do you think?

How beautiful. Well done Jan for your involvement. Linda and I often talk about you.
Wendy (Liz) Downie nee Walters says
I am a first generation Australian, and wish to thank you for forwarding Hoylake news to me. My Dad was born in Hoylake (is that the Wirral?) in 1908 and left for Australia when 18 years old. Although I’ve been to Britian several times, I never had the opportunity to visit Hoylake, and so I am delighted to see the older photographs. I believe that my Grandmother was also born nearby, although, sadly, I have never met my Walters relatives and of course it’s now too late.
Once again my heartfelt thanks,
Wendy (Liz) Downie
