Hoylake received some snow today; just enough for some afternoon sledging in Queens Park as you can see from my photo above. Has west Wirral’s microclimate conquered again …apart from the strong, cold wind that is and kept the snow at bay? A lot of Wirral schools either closed early or were closed for the whole day. The children (including mine) weren’t complaining of course but I’ve heard a few comments along the lines of schools and other services were closed too prematurely. Not an easy decision perhaps, especially in situations were child and public safety is paramount? Or is there an eagerness for people to down tools and have a rare snow day?
