Years ago, I believe there were little pony and traps (in this case it looks like donkeys) on the shore that took people over to Hilbre. In this particular case it looks like the young ladies , wearing those delicious hats, were somewhere in the region of Stanley Road. Could that be the building we now know as the Red Rocks Nursing Home in the background?
Or might it be the house at the bottom of Beach Road on the right. Characteristic chimneystack! If so it must predate the seawall between Beach road and Red Rocks.
