ohh Matron!
If the New York Daily News and The Daily Telegraph can publish the image above then so can HoylakeJunction.com!
Many thanks to Justin Dunn and Jane Williams for alerting to me to Hoylake’s hidden phallic symbol! When using the satellite view in Google maps and “flying” over Carr Lane and George Road you can clearly see the outline of an erect thingy (don’t want to be tripping those family browsing filters)!
While perhaps not quite as obvious or as famous as the Cerne Abbas Giant maybe Hoylake offers a more modern, discreet fertility symbol within easy reach of the train station?
The Telegraph article says that locals are concerned that house prices will suffer as nobody would want to live in a cul-de-sac that everyone is laughing at. But maybe the contrarian view should be taken and that the residents of George Road, Edward Road and Yeoman Cottages will inherit a prowess previously unheard of in west Wirral?
Is this symbol common knowledge (never heard of it before myself) and do people make fun of people who live in the roads because of it?
Hoylake …now not just famous for golf balls.
Have your say (nothing rude now!) in the comments below.

Toot toot!
Apparently it was in the Daily Mail too and was pointed out to me by one of my Facebook friends yesterday.
My only thought on the subject was……
Good Grief! The Daily Mail must be having really a slow news day!
