Timing isn’t perfect as the 70th VE Day anniversary has just passed but here are photos of VE Day parties kindly sent in by Les Colcutt and Richard McIntyre.
Above is a photo from Les who comments: “It was the street party for VE day in ‘The Ridgeway’ Meols at the end with the junction of ‘Bispham Drive’ near where the air raid shelter was.”

The two lower pictures taken on Ferndale Rd., came from mother in law. We did not get the pictures until after her death, so being my wife was only four when they where taken I am unable to give credit to the photographer.
