I’ve taken the liberty of suggesting it’s the first car in Hoylake …there’s every chance that’s nonsense! But it just struck me that maybe everyone would’ve come out to see the first motorcar in Hoylake? Maybe it was a wedding or someone famous perhaps?
It looks like the crowd is at the junction of Hoyle Road and Birkenhead Road, though there aren’t any houses in Hoyle Road yet. I like that old street lamp on top of a plinth.
Maybe we’ll stop and stare (or run for cover!) when the first self-driving car whizzes up Market Street in a few years?
