Friends of Hoylake & Meols in Bloom raise over £1000

Here is the latest news from the hard-working volunteer team at Friends of Hoylake & Meols in Bloom. A photo album of the event is available on this Hoylake Village Life facebook page.

Friends of Hoylake and Meols in bloom are proud to announce that we raised a massive £1100.00 at our annual garden party. A lovely day was had by all and the weather was good by the opening at 12 noon. It gave us quite a scare when we had heavy showers in the morning.

All the money will go towards plants both on the High Street and in the parks.

A huge thank you goes to all the friends and businesses, listed below, who gave us such wonderful raffle prizes:

  • Ruth Haslem
  • Tori Dipple
  • Honest To Goodness
  • Supersaver
  • Sue’s Florist
  • Co-op Funeral Services
  • Mansell Antiques
  • Urbane
  • Quintissential Furnishing
  • Portrait House
  • Seagrass Studio
  • Three Sisters Greengrocery
  • Vertu Antiques
  • Hoylake Fisheries
  • Stanley Road Boutique B & B
  • JM Sewing
  • Braggs Shoes
  • Bill Page Butchers

We would also like to thank all those who worked so hard to provide the lovely cakes: Chantilly café, Vanilla bar, Fays Bakery, Co-op, Flavours and many friends!

A special thank you goes to our brilliant musicians who kept us entertained: Caroline England and her friend James. Suzie Chappell on clarinet.

And last but not least a huge thank you to the 472 (Hoylake) squadron air cadets who looked very smart in their uniforms and were so helpful on the day. They are a credit to their squadron.
