Marianthi Lainas and Jayne Welburn, both live in Hoylake and are keen photographers. They recently decided to set themselves a challenge to create two calenders for 2010 – I love Hoylake and I love West Kirby.
Marianthi says:
They’re local calenders for local people. Through the calendars we wanted to capture the spirit of the local communities of Hoylake and West Kirby.
The calendar is in a modern, CD format and has 12 landscape photographs of each town. To give it more of a community feel we have involved 12 local people who are featured saying what it is they love about their town.
For Hoylake the local people involved include amongst others, a lifeboatman, butcher, sailing club commodore, volunteers, sandyachter and local historian.
The calendar costs £4.99 and a minimum donation of 10% from sales will be made to the Hoylake Lifeboat Appeal.
The Hoylake calendar is available to buy in a number of shops on Market Street. You can also preview and buy from this website.
