Hoose Court: Have your say on development plans

Apologies for the short notice.

Owners of the Hoose Court site, Wirral Partnership Homes, are inviting local Hoylake residents to comment on redevelopment plans for the now boarded, partially vacant site on Market Street. Here is the invitation:

“You are invited to attend a Hoose Court redevelopment consultation drop in event, in front of the empty site, in Market Street, Hoylake on Tuesday 11th October 2011 any time between 2pm and 7pm

Come along and tell us your views on the redevelopment proposals consisting of modern new homes and share your ideas on the landscaping proposals for the area.

If you would like any further information contact Steve Eaves at Wirral Partnership Homes on (0151) 666 7001”.

Local community group, Incredible Edible Hoylake, would like to use some of the available land for a community gardening area.

    Hmmmm
The scheme presented needs a considerable amount of review to my mind.
A four storey block seems inappropriate considering the location.
It does not appear WPH or their Architects have considered the existing pedestrian and vehicular routes across the site either. Or the potential vehicular traffic congestion in Hazel and Chapel Road generated by their currently ill considered additional parking layout.
However even though this is the initial consultation there is obviously a willingness to push ahead as a planning application submission in four weeks was mentioned . . . .!

Make the site a carpark. Might prevent Hoylake from dying off completely.

I always thought that they had said they would build new flats for the elderly seeing as Hoose Court was out of date, we need pensioner flats so that they don’t have to leave the area where they have lived all their lives.
