It seems that the Hoylake branch of HSBC Bank is scheduled to be closed in March 2011.
I’ve received confirmation on twitter that when HSBC Hoylake account users log in online they receive an email with notification of the forthcoming closure. The bank is the only remaining branch of a high street bank in Hoylake. Account holders are being told that will have to use either the West Kirby or Moreton branches. I have emailed the HSBC press department asking for more information but they haven’t replied back as yet.
Jackie Hall informs me that concerned residents and businesses can sign a petition against the closure tomorrow morning (Friday 10th Dec) from 9.30 am outside the bank at The Quadrant. The Wirral News is sending a reporter along to cover the story as well. I might not be able to make it myself so if anyone can provide photos and an update please do get in touch.
