Carol Tipping, a member of Hoylake Photographic Society (website), has been in touch with details of a forthcoming evening event that you might find interesting.

Digital Astro-Photography with Professor Ian Morison

Ian Morison is based at Jodrell Bank Observatory, he teaches astronomy at the University of Manchester and helped found the Macclesfield Astronomy Society which meets at Jodrell Bank. He lectures widely on astronomy and has co-authored two books for amateur astronomers. In recent years he has contributed to many television programmes and is a regular astronomy commentator on local and national radio.

This is an evening to appeal to a wide audience – not only astronomy buffs! Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult.

    Hi

Just wanted to say a huge thankyou to Hoylake Photographic Society.

We attended the talk last night by Professor Ian Morison and found it not only incredibly entertaining, but also very useful. The tips and tricks are something we hope to put to use in the not too distant future.

We were made to feel very welcome and the cup of tea was one of the nicest i’ve had in a long time.

So thank you to the HPS for allowing us to come along, and thank you to Hoylake Junction for advertising the evening.

    Kind regards

    Mark
