Press release from Hoylake Parade:
Thanks to Esther McVey MP for arranging for Nick Hurd (left), Minister with special responsibility for the Big Society to visit the Centre [earlier this month]. He attended a packed meeting with representatives of many local organisations answering questions on all aspects of this policy initiative to bring more power to local people.
He took time to explore the Centre with the Chairman of the JMC Vaughan Williams (right) and was keen to hear how the Asset Transfer was progressing transferring the Parade to our new company.
Vaughan said: “It was great to have this opportunity to brief the Minister on the impact this sort of big undertaking has had on our volunteers and how the elected members have supported us. He was interested to hear how the local Authority had handled the transfer of one of the largest Centres in the area. He was really impressed by what has been achieved by volunteers to create this great facility for local people”.
