North Parade Paving

prom paving

Does anybody know why these two large slabs of concrete paving on North Parade have moved? Please leave a comment if you do.

Thanks to Ian Hazlehurst for pointing this little mystery out to me over on twitter.

May have expanded in hot weather?

Well, yes I had thought of that too Peter. Some expansion if that’s the case as there’s some weight in those big slabs.

Where about’s are the slabs are they between the old and new Lifeboat station??

Just had a look out the window and I think I can see them..

As much as the ‘expansion’ sounds like a good theory, I can’t see slabs that big moving that much in the sun.

They were down the front drilling their bore holes a couple of weeks ago..maybe something was disturbed.

      Hi Mark

They’re between the new station and the shelter at the bottom of Cyldesdale. Maybe it’s workmen who haven’t finished yet?
