Local artist Micheline Robinson has been in touch with information about a forthcoming “open studio” tour. Here’s the press release:
We are proud to invite you to the Wirral’s first official Open Studio Tour which will take place on the week-end of the 12th-14th of November, 2010.
Please join us on the 12th of November for the preview, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Hoylake Community Centre, for a free evening of art, top drawer poetry and background music (by fantastic musician!). Pick up a map of the week-end’s art trail on the night, in the week preceeding the event in your local library or at the Biennial Hub on Renshaw Street, Liverpool (where the old Rapid’s shop used to be).
On the 13th and 14th of November from 12:00-5:00 p.m., enjoy a leisurely week-end of art discovery, set against a background of the sea and Wirral’s lovely rural landscapes. There will be quality works to suit every taste; from sculptures, felts, embroidery, jewellery to a plethora of painting styles.
Various venues will be offering workshops and some will even offer a selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. For children especially, there will be a find a pound treasure trail with clues to follow… pound coins will be hidden in various public spaces, and galleries during the event. The coins you find, you keep!
The trail will be listed on the foundapound.com website as well as on this one (www.wirral-open-studios.com) in early November.
This year we will be supporting Cruse Bereavement Care and the Wirral Autistic Society
This is truly an event not to be missed!
