On behalf of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom, Sheila Saunders writes:
Hoping for an Indian summer, Hoylake and Meols in Bloom members are extending their opening of the kiosk in the Parade Gardens until the end of September.
Residents and visitors can enjoy hot and cold drinks, icecreams and snacks, in the attractive surroundings of  the gardens planted out by H & M in Bloom with a  variety of flowers, shrubs, herbs and this year a wild flower area.  The usual hours are from 2 to 4  on Sunday  afternoons and the kiosk will be open at  these times  on September 23 and 30.  But also volunteers  will be on duty to serve refreshments for longer periods during the annual 10k coastal fun run on September 9 and during the Ladies Open Golf Tournament on both Saturday  September 15 and Sunday September 16.
This is a valuable fundraising opportunity for the organisation which has enhanced the local  environment both along the main street  and in the  parks and deserves continued support.  And many visitors to the ‘village’ comment favourably on the facility,  its setting  and their friendly reception – helping put Hoylake on the tourist map.
