Everyone is invited to come along and join guided tours divulging the truth about the church’s ghost stories, the comic efforts of a bungling safe-cracker and many other tales. There will be quiz-sheets for kids, music and song from folk guitarist Brian O’Ryan and Friends, and light refreshments will be available.
At the same time a member of the congregation, Peter Surridge, will be doing a sponsored paint-in, putting the finishing touches to a still life oil painting in aid of charity. Sponsors will receive numbered tickets and the painting will be won by the holder of the winning number.
The ticket will be drawn next day, Sunday, September 9, after the annual Lifeboat parade and service to be held at St Hildeburgh’s, the ‘Lifeboat Church,’ at 11am. All are welcome to come and meet Hoylake’s RNLI heroes at the church, on the corner of The King’s Gap and Stanley Road, Hoylake.
For more details, contact Rev Paul Rossiter on 632-3897 or Peter Surridge on 632-5507.
