Fire At Hoylake Sailing School

percival-assoc

Merseyside Fire and Rescue have reported that there was a significant fire during the early hours of Tuesday morning at the Hoylake Sailing School in Market Street (pictured above – taken this lunchtime).

Full report here – opens in new window.

[UPDATE]: Vaughan Williams emails:

As you know this fire was discovered early this morning. John Percival runs a significant business with many students from all over the world and this was a major problem.

The good news was that by 9.30 he was able to operate all his 5 classes in the Parade Hoylake Community Centre losing only 1/2 hours training for his students.

With the help of our staff we were able to arrange accommodation at short notice enabling the business to continue.

“I am very pleased that we were able to assist a valuable local business in a time of difficulty and this is very much a part of our duty to the Local Community. I should like to thank all our staff for their quick action in rearranging our bookings to accommodate the Sailing School and we will continue to offer our help until the premises are reconstructed.”
