I took this photo back in January on a particularly cold Friday afternoon from what I remember – though there were plenty to choose from last winter!
You’ll find this plaque set in to a little brick pillar on the grass, just by the entrance to the block of retirement apartments on the corner of Hoyle Road. The plaque is a little muddy because I had to brush some old moss off it.
Of course this was the site of the old Hoylake YMCA and there were many comments about the YMCA in this post.
If the YMCA was deemed worthy of a commemorative plaque, surely the old swimming pool is deserving of one too wouldn’t you say?
Oh, if you think a couple of recent, full-size photos look a little bit narrower, it’s me and not your eyesight 🙂 I’m starting to use a width of 600 pixels rather than 630 in readiness for a slight update to the layout of HoylakeJunction.
