kings gap rear

Work has commenced on the redevelopment of The Kings Gap Hotel. The function suite to the rear of the building is now being demolished and hoardings are currently being put up around the rear of the site.

After being on holiday I’ll be catching up with the local goings-on over the next couple of days… so expect a Hoylake news report early next week!

A sad picture- I remember the place with affection and recall some good “dos” there. Another bit of history bites the dust

Was it built to provide a dance venue for airmen from RAF West Kirby?
And I guess it has a lot of Asbestos in it (as do millions of properties).
I guess it was getting a bit tired, lets see what replaces it, will it be useful and affordable?

An upgrade was urgently needed but I have some great memories of “do’s” in the KGC function suite. The last time I was there they had to put buckets around the place to catch the water “invading” through the roof – another chapter of Hoylake’s past being taken away – but hopefully this one will rise again.
