Here’s a super old photo that I spotted in a facebook feed the other day.
It’s Church Road or rather it was because we now all know it today as Trinity Road. Obviously named because there used to be a church in the road – an earlier post featuring the church has received over 300 comments! Did you know that the row of houses opposite the cemetery have a name plaque of Church View?
I’ve published photos of Trinity Road quite a few times, including:
Do you have any more to share?
My father lived in No. 24 of the terrace on the right in the picture. While my mother lived in No 49 which was to the back of the camera; the very up-market part of Trinity Road.
A lovely photo of what, dare I suggest, and although now sadly pulled down, for most older Hoylake folks will always be THE Parish Church. As my brother mentioned in a post some time ago, we moved from 21 Back Sea View to 20 Trinity Road (opposite the club) in 1953 and it was not until 1997, when dad died, that I sold the house. Incidentally, following my brother’s post, someone queried who had lived at this address prior to us – I believe that person is a fellow family historian, and if they would like to contact me – c.mason843@btinternet.com – quoting the full names of the people they mentioned originally, I will provide as much info as I can from the original Conveyance to my parents, plus evidence as to one of their hobbies. I do not believe my information will be of general interest, hence my request they contact me direct, and as I am fairly new to computers etc., they should ensure I have their email address
