Friday Photo: Ferndale Road

ferndale road

Here’s a super view of a car-free Ferndale Road that was also published and discussed over on this facebook page. Care to put a date to this photo?

I reckon that’s the view facing toward Hoyle Road though back then Hoyle Road might not have existed. And there’s a few more houses still to built on the lefthand side (those attractive 3-storey ones) as you head down Ferndale Rd to where it meets Chapel Road.

This is how google streetview (link) captured Ferndale Road in 2009:

Was there some male relation in your family who used to be a commmissionaire at the Lighthouse Pavilion (later Winter Gardens, Hoylake Cinema etc.) about 100 years ago ?
