I reckon that’s the view facing toward Hoyle Road though back then Hoyle Road might not have existed. And there’s a few more houses still to built on the lefthand side (those attractive 3-storey ones) as you head down Ferndale Rd to where it meets Chapel Road.

Was there some male relation in your family who used to be a commmissionaire at the Lighthouse Pavilion (later Winter Gardens, Hoylake Cinema etc.) about 100 years ago ?

If you are asking me Ruth at York ,Charles all i can tell you is that my grandma Hall ne Rogan did play the panio at the Winter Gardens for the silent movies.
