Boating Lake Now Coated

September 10, 2009 by John · 3 Comments

coated boating lake

The renovation work to the model boat lake has resulted in the above. All the concrete is now coated with a bright blue water-proofing material – though I do not know if further coatings need to be applied.

Details are to be confirmed, but to help with the fund raising there is to be a model exhibition very soon next door at the lifeboat station – as soon as I have the details I’ll publish an update.

And as my two children have kindly pointed out – I’ve got to buy a model boat very soon!

Magnificent! it looks beautiful and reminds me of painting the bottom of the baths back in 1976!

Great to see the communuty spirit alive!

Incidentally has anyone ever investigated whether Hoylake could get a Town Council? They are the equivalent to the Parish Councils found in more rural areas? They have a limited role and budget but they do have a truely local focus so could harness all that enthusiasm.

    Hello,

We will be filling the boating lake starting Thursday morning, great result for the community, lets look after it!

There will be a weekend of model trains, boats and Meccano this weekend (19 & 20 September) at Hoylake Lifeboat Station in aid of the Hoylake Lifeboat Appeal
