claret jug on Red Rocks

As Hoylake and The Royal Liverpool Golf Club continues to ready itself for the forthcoming Open, the famous trophy – the Claret Jug – was recently introduced to the Hoylake community.

Christopher Moore, on behalf of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club comments: “we were given permission by the R&A to show the trophy to the local people, the images clearly show their early interest in the Open Golf Championship which returns to Royal Liverpool Golf Club for the 12th time this July.”

All photos taken by Jane Hockey. You can read about the history of the Claret Jug on wikipedia.

What super photos! A great initiative to take the Claret Jug on a Hoylake walkabout!
