Hoylake Railway Sign

Hoylake sign

I was searching for some images earlier when I stumbled upon this old Hoylake railway sign. Apparently such signs are called totems and this Hoylake one was used when the station belonged to British Railways London Midland Region. Much more attractive than the current one I’d say.

I remember when these iconic BR signs were removed. They were stacked up on the down platform and I was sorely tempted to pinch one. I rather wish I had!
