Yesterday was Lifeboat Day in Hoylake and the first one with the new lifeboat station as the new focal point. I gather that the event was very successful with an estimated 30,000 spectators watching the Red Arrows at 5pm. Unfortunately the rain arrived at the same time as the planes and most people got more than a little bit wet. I took the above photo in the morning (I couldn’t attend in the afternoon) and it was quite sunny and rather warm.
It is anticipated that around £25,000 – £30,000 has been raised from the day to increase the appeal fund for the replacement boat.
