It’s my turn next, you’ve got a real one Grandad!
I guess this photo epitomises why some local people got together to get Hoylake’s model boating lake back in action – family fun! Pictured is Dave Dodd (Head Launcher at Hoylake RNLI) with his daughter-in-law Louise and his granddaughter Beau having first go of the restored boating lake.
Many thanks to Hoylake RNLI crew member Ian Davis who sent me these photos of the nearly ready lake. The boating lake took some time to fill with water apparently. Ian says that it only rose about 1/2 inch per hour. The lake is actually deeper in the centre than at the edge where it is filled to about 3 foot deep.
Well done to local, specialist coatings company ATC for doing all the actual work !
The official opening of the lake by the Mayor takes place this Saturday, 19th September at 2.30pm. I gather the Mayor will even be launching his own boat!
