I’ve previously mentioned the Hoylake 1810 Memorial Fund which has the aim of raising funds for the installation of a permanent bronze memorial to be sited outside the Lifeboat Station. I’m pleased to announce a fund raising event to support the cause.

There will be a Model Weekend at Hoylake Community Centre on the weekend of 17^th and 18^th July. Some of the highlights include:

• Hornby 0 & oo gauge
• Hornby model boats
• Meccano
• A large collection of model boats
• Trade stalls
• Joan’s homemade pies and pasties
• Model boats sailing on the newly refurbished model boating lake
• Hoylake Lifeboat station will be open for inspection
• Raffle prizes

When: Saturday 17th July 10am – 4pm & Sunday 18th July 10am – 4pm

Where: Hoylake Community centre, Hoyle Road

All welcome: Admission £3. Children under 14 – £1
