In a complete change of weather from last week, Monday in Hoylake has been cool and very windy. It’s causing minor issues too – windblown sand is drifting onto the promenade and is building up in places. The picture above shows the junction of Trinity Road and the promenade with a big pile of drifted sand. There are also a few banks of sand against the walls of several houses on the prom too. Last year I recall that numerous patches of sand weren’t cleared and were left for several months – I presume it’s the responsibility of the council to clear it?
Can anyone confirm ..am I right in thinking that you’re not allowed to clean up the sand yourself and put it back on the beach?
